How We Started
Like so many small businesses, Abaloria started with something simple… a love of creating.
In 1999, I began making jewelry because I couldn’t find pieces that reflected my own style. Friends started asking if they could buy what I was wearing, and before I knew it, a hobby had turned into something I never saw coming.
In 2001, I took a leap of faith and opened Abaloria in Seattle. Over the next eight years, I had the privilege of designing custom bridal jewelry for hundreds of women and was honored when Seattle Bride Magazine named Abaloria Best Wedding Jewelry in 2007.
When I closed the studio in 2009, I truly believed that chapter of my life was over.
Life, thankfully, had other plans.
Reopening Abaloria in 2023 wasn’t about going back—it was about moving forward with a new perspective. Today, my focus is creating handcrafted jewelry inspired by nature, designed to be worn every day, collected over time, and shared with the people we love.
Looking back, it’s amazing how a hobby that began at my dining room table has become such a meaningful part of my life. I can’t wait to see where the next chapter takes us.
